Banjoree 2007!

The Banjoree 2007 is scheduled for June. I will be attending with my trusty five-string. If you are interested in this event, check out the pictures of the 2005 Banjoree here.

The event two years ago was a fantastic weekend. It was attended by many who also played other instruments, so there were some awesome jam sessions.

If you are a banjo (clawhammer or three-finger) player living in Europe, this event is a must. This year, they are also having workshops for bluegrass guitar players and encouraging attendence by those who play things other than just banjo.

UPDATE: I will attending two of the workshops there. On Saturday morning I will be learning "traditional clawhammer" with Gerard de Smaele. In the afternoon, the picks go on for three hours of Scruggs tecnique with Jürgen Biller.

Hopefully, I will find the chance to check out some local memorials or cemeteries. If anybody knows of any nearby sites that would be appropriate for sites-of-memory.de, please get in touch with me.

8" Floppy?

Can anybody still read an eight-inch floppy disk? I found one from my college days and would like someone to "crack" it and print out the goodies inside.

Arab-American Brunch...

Yesterday from 11:00-13:00 we had the Arab-American Brunch. About 40 people showed up in the German-American Institute in Tübingen for a potluck buffet and casual conversation.

The next Arab-American Dialogue will on 28 February at 20:15 in the German-American Institute in Tübingen. All are welcome.
